Well, it's a tough question but it needs to be asked. Consider the evidence. Whilst the lone alien "child" was probably pushing 16 when he crash landed on planet Earth, a noteable feature of each and every Look and Read episode is the title character's strange infatuation for the male characters around him. I believe he had a particular crush for Mr Bunting. Whenever a man comes on screen, watch Peep Peep's face:- He gazes at them with a curious, "come to me" expression, suggesting that his interest in females is non-existent.
It has been suggested, therefore, that Peep Peep's sexuality might be attibuted to the Thin man's strange behaviour on board the mothership earlier in the story. For my Phd, I have spent the last eighteen months deconstructing each and every episode of "The Boy from Space" to find valid evidence to back my case up. I believe I have now solved the mystery.
Peep Peep was definitly gay. I believe his father may have known this, and, whilst a little ashamed, decided there was little he could do. However, the thin man, not quite as liberal as Peep Peep's dad, was livid and decided to teach Peep Peep a lesson. This is where things get interesting. From months of painstaking analysis, I have decided that the thin spaceman was actually Peep Peep's grandfather. Look at the evidence! The similarities in looks; the relationship between father and son; the three weird spacemen even dress in the same kinds of clothes! So, whilst on board the ship, the thin man decided to wreak a mutiny. He knew that the ship would crash land and this his homosexual grandchild would eventually get lost on Earth (and hopefully be killed by a gang of homophobic punk-rockers). However, as viewers of the story will know, the thin man's evil plot never worked out as Peep Peep quickly met Bunting and co and they quickly started to sort stuff out.
However, I believe my theory explains the thin man's horrid behaviour. He was nothing more than a vile homophobe who wanted to rid the World of his gay grandson. Look at the evil expression on the man's face. It never alters, not once. He can't stand the site of other human beings, let alone his gay grandchild.
This is the first time in ages I’ve posted anything on this site, but I feel prompted to as someone has insinuated that I am homophobic. I am not at all! I will incinerate the next person who insinuates to the contrary! Admittedly we all looked a little camp in our blue space suits but hell, it was 1971! Where do you think I’ve been for the last 30 odd years? Living off the royalties from Alvin Stardust that’s where!

If you're going to post that kind of homophobia on the boards then I think everyone will be glad that you are never going to post here again.
The site is kind of dead I suppose seeing as nobody (viz: me) can get onto the fsnet FTP to update it at the minute. But it will ressurect itself at a slightly different address and actually get updated again. It will most likely not report as fact that Peep Peep was gay, nor that the Thin Man was his grandfather, nor anythig about those punk-rockers.
But is there any news to report on the ridiculously nervous ghost's doctoral thesis deconstructing The Boy From Space getting published yet? Can we all start rushing to order our own copies from the BLDSC?
